Uluru Elopement - Marry in the NT

Put a rock on it at the ROCK!

Picture
You can't really find a more iconic spot to marry than the red centre.
Elope Australia is lucky to be partnered exclusively with Uluru Camel Tours.
Lisa and Chris, the owners of the farm have the closest private sand dune to the rock. On sunset you overlook the iconic Uluru and Kata Tjuta National Park.

Sharne (Co-Owner of this shebang and Aria Photography) and I pinch ourselves every time we are lucky to visit. We usually squeeze in a couple of trips a year to the red centre. There are a LOT of moving parts when it comes to marrying in such a remote location. Our entire team has to fly in as the only residence in Yulara are the camels (and the owners of the farm). We have THE BEST personal travel manager - Claire Crosby who hooks us up with our flights, accomodation and car hire. She also looks after all our couples + guests needs too.

We usually fly in the day prior, touch base with Lisa (and the camels - Meryl and Rex) . A quick drink with the couple we are marrying and then we all bunker down in the one apartment. It is a bit like school camp. Action packed days and early to bed from exhaustion, with always the exception from one of the team wanting to chat long into the night as we chew the fat on how to save the world. AND obviously with a few antics and crazy photos shoots in between... how can it be helped when you have a room full of professional 'togs'....

On elopement day the hair and makeup team get to work around mid morning, the rest of us not far behind them. Capturing a bit of the behind the scenes magic as it unfolds. The tunes are usually playing, champas is flowing along with a few nibbles to pass the time in between giggles with our incredible hair and makeup team - Kel and Nicky.

Once everyone is set to go we head out to the first look location in separate cars ready for the epic reveal. We usually find a quiet spot but you can never guarantee a rouge bush walker won't be passing by... Of COURSE we have to capture them in the moment. There is always a lot of laughs, some random iphone pics by the tourists (hahaa we are all tourists) and we ponder over what on earth they will be doing with those pics when they get back to their home town.

Ok, I may have a little obsession over BRANDING! (Sharne, insert eye roll here)
Yep it is all ME, I love to stick the logo on anything and everything, so naturally we drive around the NT with signage plastered all over the car, and YES we had to pose with the merch as well! Thanks Anitra Wells for putting up with me and capturing these golden nuggets.

Spending time in the dessert is pretty breathtaking. There is something about being so far away from civilisation. You look up at night sky at the most incredible stars above, shinning brightly then you have ever seen before.

We are so grateful to be surrounded by such an incredible bunch of suppliers, who are now serious BFF's. They all put their heart and soul into every single job, take time away from their work back home and family life to hit the road with us on what we first thought would be a 'once in a lifetime' kind of experience. How lucky this is what we call a JOB! And that we keep getting the opportunity to marry such incredible couples in the middle of no where, with a bond that will never be broken.
I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, the Anangu people.  I pay my respects to their elders past, present and emerging.
