Golden Hour - Best light for Photos

Let't chat about the GOLDEN HOUR...
You will hear it a lot when it comes to chatting with your wedding photographer. They will suggest heading out to get the last part of the golden afternoon sun. In winter that can be quite early in the afternoon as the sun sets a lot earlier than in the peak of the summer months.

When discussing the ceremony time I will always try and work in with the photographer as they are going to want to try and capture the ceremony in the best light too.

Often couples will think it is a great idea to get married on the sunniest of sunny days... to be completely honest, you want the overcast days where the light is flattering in any angle.

When you are choosing your ceremony location try and keep that in mind. The harsh sunlight can ruin the pics if you decide to lock in the ceremony mid daytime! If you have to choose that time slot then try and find some shade. A big tree will not only make you all feel a few degrees cooler it will 'MAKE' your photos. Less harsh, less glare and so much more flattering when you are in even light.

A side note - I will always print your personal vows on light blue paper in the summer months to help with the glare on the page so you are squinting in the pics!

You're Welcome!
